About myself

Dr. Matthias Catón
Matthias Catón

I’m the Director of Corporate Development at Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, one of Germany’s leading business schools. Before taking up my current position, I served as Program Director for the School’s Bachelor (BSc) in Business Administration program for over eight years.

I previously worked as an Associate Director at the World Economic Forum in Geneva, where I was responsible for the Global Redesign Initiative and helped launch the Network of Global Agenda Councils. Before joining the Forum, I was a Program Officer at International IDEA, an international organization based in Stockholm that works in the field of democracy support, and a Research Associate and Lecturer at the Institute of Political Science at the University of Heidelberg.

I’ve studied Political Science, Economics, and Medieval and Contemporary History at the University of Heidelberg and the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile in Santiago. I hold a Master’s degree and a Doctorate from the University of Heidelberg, an Executive Master in Global Leadership, awarded by the World Economic Forum (in collaboration with INSEAD, London Business School, The Wharton School, and Columbia University), and a Postgraduate Diploma in Management from ESMT Berlin.

I’m part of the German Foreign Ministry’s experts’ roster for civilian personnel in peace operations and election observation. I have served as an election observer for the OSCE in Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan.
