BRIDGE, which stands for "Building Resources in Democracy, Governance and Elections", is a comprehensive course curriculum for election administrators. It teaches them everything they need to know to run elections, from general principles of free and fair elections to technical details such as the proper design of ballot papers and the layout of polling stations.
BRIDGE was created by International IDEA, the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC), the United Nations Election Assistance Division (UNEAD), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and IFES. The current version 2 comprises twenty-one modules in three thematic areas plus two introductory modules.
Matthias Catón has successfully completed the BRIDGE Train the Facilitator course in 2007.
